Changes in Sacred Texts and Traditions: A Centre of Excellence of the Academy of Finland at the University of Helsinki

The Academy of Finland selected fourteen research groups as Centres of Excellence in Research for its 2014–2019 programme, involving research teams from twelve universities or research institutes and representing all fields of academic research. One of these new Centres of Excellence, »Changes in Sacred Texts and Traditions,« mainly consisting of Hebrew Bible scholars, is based at the University of Helsinki and led by Prof. Martti Nissinen. This essay describes the aims and structure of this new research project involving approximately 40 members, including senior scholars, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral students.
