Beschreibung
According to Acts 13–14, Paul spread the gospel in Lycaonia, central Anatolia. About 1,000 Christian inscriptions from that region allow to draw a vivid picture of Christian women who lived there during the first Christian centuries. The article looks at the social roles and official functions of women in the early Christian communities in Lycaonia up to the fifth century.
