The article discusses recent literature on protestant church law in the view of Practical Theology. In this perspective it is of special interest how the jurisprudential discussion deals with theological approaches to this research subject and with religious ideas about it. Overall it shows two results: On the one hand one can perceive a kind of jurisprudential theology, being strongly determined by traditional views on the church. On the other hand it becomes clear that Practical Theology should regain its own relation to church law.
