In both the German-speaking Protestant as well as Catholic theology there exists an increasing interest in the postmetaphysical thought on God himself. Traditions of hermeneutic and speculative theology are combined in the proc-ess. In addition, there is also a tendency to fall back on elements of more recent philosophy.
