This paper aims to reflect on the final moment of the imperial cult in Hispania considering the epigraphic evidence. We find dedications, rituals and priesthoods associated with the imperial cult at least until the beginning of the fourth century. Although religious changes (for instance the rise of Christianity) and political instability influenced the transformation of its epigraphic expression, the real impact of the so-called third century crisis has been a topic of discussion. Therefore, this process turns out to be of great interest in order to identify the reasons that explain the continuity of imperial cult practices and the benefits that individuals and communities obtained in such a complex and unstable political context.
