The hermeneutical category of »religious affinity« describes a stance on the border between secular and religious spheres. It surmounts, however, this duality in favor of a more comprehensive model of religious interest, creative appropriation and mutual understanding. So it turns out to be a concept equally relevant to theology and to cultural studies.
