Summary
Ernst Tugendhat, who died in March 2023, is appreciated as an intensive thinker who has made an original and weighty contribution to theoretical philosophy in particular. The review focuses on this part of his work and draws a line from the book on analytic philosophy, in which Tugendhat transforms the classical problems of theoretical philosophy into the programme of formal semantics, via the book on self-consciousness, which attempts to clarify the difficult conceptual problems surrounding this topic with the help of the analysis of language in a methodological sense, to the late texts on mysticism, whose basic intentions are already inherent in Tugendhat's conception of semantics.
