Summary
This article investigates the function of the angels of the nations in Dan 10–12* against the backdrop of varying conceptions concerning the interrelation of divine and human sovereignty in the broader context of the book. The analysis aims to show that the heavenly combat between angels reacts to the integration of mundane tyranny into the divine providence (Dan 10–12*) and enforces the promise of eternal sovereignty (Dan 7:27) on a divine meta-level.
