Deep changes are afoot in the practice of liturgy in German churches as insights to the New Testament and the theory of church open up new perspectives. But because this leads to problems when it comes to understanding Christian service and the church, it is important to discover the ecclesiastical character of »oikos« and »oikumene« and to use them for liturgical practice.
