Summary
The first part of this article discusses the problematic assumptions concerning house churches, presents examples of Greco-Roman associations in domestic settings and considers possible meeting places of Christ-believers in Ephesus. The second part looks into various archaeological findings of pagan and Christian domestic religion from the 2nd to the 6th centuries CE.
