Summary
Intercultural growth and development is of crucial importance for the church's future orientation. When faced with the challenges of globalisation, migration and demographic change, it demonstrates a worldview and genuine Christian approach to building communities through church life that is dynamic, courageous and meaningful. By creating space for collaboration and cooperation between a wide-range of peoples, diverse forms of living out faith, structures and approaches to problems, churches escape the paralysis of empty alternatives. To make intercultural growth and development work in practice, practical theology needs to systematically research the topic, debate church concepts and models, demonstrate the progress made, and then teach others what has been learnt.
