Summary
The following article starts from the assumption that the proclamation of the historical Jesus has to be entirely located within Judaism of his time. It provides a brief overview of Jesus's public ministry by focusing on the interaction between his »judaïté« and his »singularité« (this conceptual pair was coined by Daniel Marguerat with reference to the historical Jesus). In the further course the attempt is made to show that the quest for the correlation of these two paradigms facilitates the perception of a fundamental theological continuity between the proclamation of the historical Jesus and the early Christian proclamation of Christ, which encompasses a no less fundamental historical discontinuity.
