Summary
As a philosopher, Stäudlin regarded himself as a skeptic and a Kantian; as a theologian, he advocated the necessity of supernatural revelation. While Stäudlin doubted the conclusiveness of traditional natural theology, he coined the formula of Christianity as a »united rationalism and supernaturalism«. The principles of practical reason constitute the standard for distinguishing correct from false teachings of revelation.
