Summary
The problem of moral realism does not seem to play a major role in the Hebrew Bible. Some texts like Gen 18 and others, however, do show that this problem was virulent for at least some Old Testament writers, and that it was coped with by way of arguing with God. Taking Gen 18 as case example, this article displays the conditions for the possibility of moral realism in the Hebrew Bible as well as some threads of its unfolding.
