Summary
The study of visual representations in curse tablets greatly helps us to interpret these rituals and the different technologies applied. The images act as complements to the texts and, as such, must be 'read' and interpreted as an integral part of the rite. The present article considers figural representations as they appear in the context of aggressive magic, with a focus on representations of the victim, in order to better understand their role within the textual context.
