Summary
The philosophical interpretation of German rationalist School Metaphysics of the 17th Century depends on the determination of its terminus a quo and its terminus ad quem. Considering both, this review of three recent editions of important works argues for a revised perspective. The author claims that the School Metaphysical influence on Wolff and Kant does not consist in the model of metaphysica generalis and metaphysica specialis, but in the modalization of the subiectum metaphysicae, and he suggests that protestant orthodoxy does not simply use a scholastic vocabulary for the articulation of articles of faith, but re-interprets metaphysics as an ars interna within a new model of subjectivity.
