Zweimal Großraum

In Carl Schmitt's work the concept of »Nomos« is developed and sharpened in close connection with the category of »Großraumordnung« under international law. However, the term »Großraumordnung« is anything but coherent, since Schmitt places it in two very different contexts of motivation: One of these contexts refers to the Nomos as a »Taking« while the other refers to technical-industrial networks as the fabric of totalitarian power over large spaces. The article elaborates the contradictions that emerge here.
