In these individual studies (mainly originating from his time as professor at the universities of Heidelberg and Tübingen, 1999-2018) he brings aspects of the anatomy and dogmatic structures of a Christian world view into conversation with a whole range of perspectives, such as Bible studies, philosophy and study of religion, the sciences, politics, the arts, and the theologies of other religious traditions.
