Summary
In his study Hans-Christian Kammler examines the Christology and eschatology of the Gospel according to John as well as the relationship between the two subjects. In the area of Christology, the author shows that the Evangelist is not a proponent of subordinationist Christology; he claims that there is complete unity between God and Jesus. In discussing eschatology, Kammler demonstrates that the Gospel contains a strictly realized eschatology, which implies that there is no 'dialectical' juxtaposition of realized and future eschatology. This study does not only offer an interpretation of the text itself; it also presents a consistent interpretation of the fundamental elements of Johannine theology.
