Summary
To understand Roman crucifixion, John Granger Cook argues that one should begin with the evidence from Latin texts and inscriptions supplemented by the relevant archaeological material (graffiti etc.). These results illuminate the question of crucifixion in Greek texts and particularly in the New Testament.
