Germany's AVB regulation for heat supply allows contracts to run for up to ten years. Long-term contracts for local and district heating supply are also widespread outside their area of application. Because they can potentially be accompanied by restrictions on market access, the question arises as to whether antitrust law sets limits on the duration of heat supply contracts.
