Presence is neither a property of events nor of the experience of events, but part of a human strategy of orientation in the time structures of the lifeworld. Time is always the time of events and sequences of events. It would also exist if we didn't exist. This is not true for the present. Time exists without us, presence only with and through us. And both not without the presence of God.
