Wagner's theological formula of »self-explication in the place of otherness,« derived from the Trinity, or its later form as »co-presence of self and otherness,« claims to remain compatible with interdisciplinary discourse by means of a theological justification. Thomas Scheiwiller questions if, according to Wagner, the absolute power of God must be abandoned for a self-responsible description of human freedom and whether money threatens freedom by exposing people to a world of total interchangeability.
