In recent years, new questions have led to a new approach to the category of guilt. On the one hand, there is a re-emergence of the classic problem of free will in the wake of new developments in brain research, and on the other hand possible new objects of the guilty verdict. Should companies, or artificial intelligence, such as robots, also be able be to guilty in the near or distant future? This volume looks at the origins and history of criminal guilt and lays the ground for the answer to the question regarding the future of the principle of guilt.
