Jesus' death on the cross and his high-priestly sacrifice are two aspects of the same event in the Letter to the Hebrews. His sacrifice of body and blood corresponds with his own interpretation of his death according to the account of the Lord's Supper in Matthew's Gospel. He performs the high-priestly service on earth at the cross and at the same time in the pneumatic sphere of God's sanctuary.
