Handbuch zum Alten Testament

Edited by Jan Christian Gertz, and Reinhard Müller

In the Handbuch zum Alten Testament, all the books of the Hebrew canon and selected apocrypha have been translated and annotated. The Handbuch zum Alten Testament stands in the tradition of the Kurzer Handkommentar and was founded by Otto Eißfeldt. The commentary has a philological-historical focus and addresses all those who are looking for a scholarly reliable and understandable explanation of the Bible in its historical world. It also includes major primary and secondary sources from the ancient Near East in a translation.

A second section, covering the Old Testament Apocrypha, is to be edited by Matthias Henze and Jens Herzer.
