Religion und Aufklärung

»Religion« and »enlightenment« are presupposition-rich categories indispensable for understanding the dynamics of modernisation. Historically as systematically, they stand in a suspenseful connection that does not let itself be captured by simple schemata such as »irrational religion« or »anti-religious enlightenment«. Rather, they point to a complex network of themes and references that must be tapped in the conceptual fundamental reflection as well as the multi-perspective description of concrete problems. The series Religion und Aufklärung (Religion and Enlightenment) gathers studies undertaken in the context of the Protestant Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Heidelberg.
