The journal is concerned with early Christianity as a historical phenomenon. Thereby, Early Christianity aims to overcome certain limitations which have hindered the development of the discipline, including the concept of the "New Testament" itself. The journal, then, is taken to cover not only the first Christian century but also the second.

OA-Publication

Open Access Policy
Authors are invited to publish their articles in open access, ensuring immediate and free availability under a Creative Commons (CC) license of the author’s choice. The article processing charge (APC) for open access publication is 1,500 EUR (before taxes). Discounts are available upon request and are considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly when the author’s funding institution has a specific fee policy.

In order to remain fair to paying subscribers and to prevent “double dipping”, the proportion of open access articles is limited to 25% per year.

If your article has been accepted for publication and you are interested in publishing in open access, please contact Program Director Dr. Katharina Gutekunst gutekunst@mohrsiebeck.com.
